This lakeside camp was designed as a writers retreat and is situated on a small and narrow lot oriented towards a bold view of the lake beyond. A strong canopy of pine and hemlock provide filtered light. Local zoning restrictions and budget dictated the scale which is a snug 400 square feet that provides the composure and spareness needed. Honest materials and simple detailing have resulted in refined structure which takes advantage of the unusual site.
